Biography
Anna G. Caltabiano joined Graves & Graves, P.C., in 2019. She is a zealous litigator for her clients and is responsible for the firm’s litigation cases before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). Anna has represented clients in bond proceedings, adjustment of status, cancellation of removal (42B and VAWA), and in appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. She also represents clients at adjustment of status and naturalization interviews and handles immigrant and nonimmigrant employment and family based applications with the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS).
Anna has extensive experience researching complex issues such as inadmissibility and removability, asylum, withholding of removal, mental competency, and criminal immigration matters, and filing Humanitarian Applications, Waiver Applications, and responds to Requests for Evidence, Notices of Intent to Deny, and Audit Notification Letters. She is also involved in advising employers on Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification requirements and conducts internal audits of companies’ I-9 records, processes, and procedures.
As a daughter of immigrants and a member of a largely immigrant community, Anna knew at a young age that she wanted to be an advocate for immigrants. She attended the University of Texas-Pan American where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned a Juris Doctor from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
Before joining Graves & Graves, Anna was a Senior Attorney at the St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance, a branch of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston, representing separated families, victims of human trafficking, and persons fearing persecution in their native country. She also worked with the Cabrini Center’s Unaccompanied Minors Program, successfully representing clients before EOIR, USCIS, and the Harris County Family District Courts.
